Do you feel your tax liability is incorrect?

Do you feel the Internal Revenue Service "got it wrong" in full or in part?

Can you verify and document the reason you feel your liability is incorrect?  Are you able to document the Internal Revenue Service error by written documentation that will allow reference to the Internal Revenue Code or the Internal Revenue Manual?

Are experiencing the assessment or proposed assessment of a tax liability against you that you feel is in error?  TAXSHARK LLC can substantiate to the Internal Revenue Service the reason why the tax assessment was in error.  TAXSHARK LLC will review and use your documentation as well as the source documents of the Internal Revenue Code and Internal Revenue Manual to seek a reduction in full or in part of your proposed, additional tax assessment.

If the Internal Revenue Service denies the documentation put forth by TAXSHARK LLC, and you as the client and TAXSHARK LLC are convinced in the validity that the tax liability was assessed in error, in full or in part, TAXSHARK LLC is willing to proceed with the following appeals on your behalf-

  • Collection Appeals Process (CAP) - a telephonic or in person meeting with the Group Manager of the unit who is responsible for the collection of the liability
  • Application for Taxpayer Assistance Order (Form 911) - filed with the Taxpayer Advocate Service who will adjudicate your dispute
  • a written appeal directly to the Appeals Division who will consider the documentation set forth and either confirm the tax assessment or abate the tax assessment in full or in part.

Should any of the above methods fail to obtain either a full or partial abatement of your tax assessment, another potential remedy might be to petition the United States Tax Court.

NOTE:  TAXSHARK LLC will not represent any client before the United States Tax Court; for that you would need the services of a qualified attorney.
